Individual Child & Teen Therapy

While we wish that childhood was entirely filled with happy memories and positive experiences, sometimes this simply isn't the case.  Individual child therapy/teen therapy can offer when things get difficult.

Our kids can experience depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other challenges.  They can struggle with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or oppositionality.

Challenges with friendships, school, and parent-child relationships along with grief and loss can cause distress as well.

When your child is dealing with sadness, anger, anxiety, or school stress, they may benefit from additional tools and strategies to manage these situations and emotions.

Skills from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other therapies can help your child cope with stressors.  A warm and supportive environment helps implement these skills in the real world.

Other issues addressed in therapy may include friendship difficulties, attentional challenges, grief, trauma, and family discord.  Therapy is most effective when parents are included and supportive.  Dr. Chamberlain focuses on creating a plan that meets your child and family's needs and addresses whatever issues you are facing.
